alt

Augustin Keller Loge Zürich

Thursday November 23rd at 14h the inauguration ceremony will be given by Bnai Brith Switzerland, the KKL, and the Swiss Embassy

“Dear sisters and brothers presidents

Vice-consul Carl Lutz saved more than 60'000 jews in 1944/5 in Budapest.

It is our great pleasure to inform about the inauguration of a memorial for Carl Lutz in KKL's 'Switzerland forest' near Tiberias, this coming Thursday, at 14 h. The memorial has been built on the initiative of AKL Zürich, in a joint project of the four Swiss Bnai Brith lodges and the KKL Switzerland.

The inauguration ceremony will be given by Bnai Brith Switzerland, the KKL, and the Swiss Embassy in Israel.

This site near the Sea of Galilee, which offers a splendid view over the Kinnereth, is situated on the “shvil Israel” and the “circum-kinneret” and will therefore attract many tourists and locals alike.

We are happy, proud and grateful to honour Carl Lutz, Swiss vice-consul in Budapest in 1944, who realized one of the most outstanding rescue operations during the holocaust, inspiring the equally wonderful and valuable operation done by Mr. Wallenberg.

You can find some more information

B'nai B'rith Europe condemns the racism and anti-Semitism extreme-right demonstration in Warsaw and calls for prohibit on hate speech against Jews

alt

Following the very serious events that took place during a rally of right-wing activists in Warsaw, Bnai Brith Europe, through its president Serge Dahan, condemns the anti-Semitic drift that has taken a new path unthinkable until now.

Some 60,000 people carrying Polish flags and throwing smoke bombs marked the Independence Day in an event that attracted extremists from Sweden, Hungary and Slovakia chanting slogans such as "Pure Poland, Poland free of Jews "," Jews out of Poland”

Despite the climate of hatred and violence, the Polish Foreign Minister said Saturday's meeting was "a great celebration of the Polish, different in their opinions, but united around the common values of freedom and loyalty to an independent homeland"

Israel called the rally in Warsaw "a dangerous march of extremism and racism elements"

Bnai Brith Europe urges the Polish authorities to take action now and before the last of the yellow lines are crossed, appropriate measures against the organizers of this meeting led by right-wing groups, by the national-radical camp, the national movement and Polish youth.

The hatred of the Jews must stop the acts of violence and barbarism against the Jews must stop. The future of a conception of Europe witch respect for human dignity which is today threatened

B'nai B'rith Europe calls on Polish public authorities to prohibit all racist and anti-Semitic events that directly attack Jews

B'nai B'rith Europe calls for the perpetrators and propagators of any anti-Semitic act or speech to be arrested and judged
